"When Irish Eyes Dot Com"
A limited run extension by popular demand
Following close on the heels of its sell-out World Premiere performance,
Santa Monica Playhouse is proud to present a limited run engagement of the
delightful presentation When Irish Eye Dot Com, a musical theatre
celebration starring Irish singer-actor-raconteur Chris Sullivan, Saturdays
May 20 through August 26.
When Irish Eyes Dot Com features songs, scenes, poetry and
limericks from Irish writers including Brendan Behan, James Joyce, Sean O'
Casey, J. M. Synge, W. B. Yeats and others. Audience participation and the
sharing of traditional Irish folk music is but one of the highlights of this
warm and charming evening of theatre.
Chris Sullivan has over one hundred appearances on British television and
seven feature films to his credit-including Lifeforce, White Angel and
Together Forever (which he co-directed)- and has worked at most of the major
British studios. His theater work includes stints at the Haymarket Theater,
Leicester, where he played Frank Stock in Stewart Parker's Spokesong, and
the Royal Theater Northampton, where he played, among other roles, the Lion
in The Wizard of Oz. Chris made his debut on American television with a
guest spot on the USA Network comedy series World Weekly News. He made his
debut in American theatre as the charming scoundrel Basil opposite Louise
Sorel in Brenda Krantz's Lovely!, which had its world premiere at the
Playhouse in 1997 and which garnered him such praise as "Superb!" from the
LA Weekly and "First Rate" from Back Stage West. Chris is set to co-star in
"LA VIRGEN" a gang related movie set in East Los Angeles. His character
is a Catholic Priest coincidently named Father Sullivan.
Admission for When Irish Eyes Dot Com is $15.00. For reservations and group sales, please call the Playhouse Box Office at 310-394-9779 ext. 1 or visit the Playhouse website at santamonicaplayhouse.com. Tickets are also available online at www.seatadvisor.com.
